Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
